They are hanging the pictures on the wall today, so it is as good a time as any to remind you all about this event. If you’re in town for SPX, you should also get over to Artisphere to see this. It’s just a Metro ride away.
COMICS MAKING STUDIO WITH THE D.C. CONSPIRACY at Artisphere.
On view Aug 21-Nov 3 / Free Meet and Greet with Artists: Sat Sep 21, 6-8pm Members of the D.C. Conspiracy (DCC), a comics-creating collaborative, will be working on actual page submissions for the Spring 2014 edition of Magic Bullet, a free, semi-annual comics newspaper. The artists will have onsite working hours so you can watch them draw and see the magic unfold. There will be “blank” comic pages available so you can make a comic and leave it behind as part of the exhibition. No question SPX 2012 uber-guests Chris Ware and Dan Clowes have their very own gravitational field. We are pleased to announce that uber-guest Adrian Tomine will be joining them at this years show. And as it is with Chris and Dan, this will be Adrian’s first time at SPX.
Someone get me a defibrillator, I gotta last till this years show…..
